Welcome
to Inverness County
Cape Breton Island is Nova Scotia's masterpiece. We invite you to discover the "magic" in that masterpiece, Inverness County. The cultural heritage and spirit of Cape Breton Island continues to thrive throughout this area. Cape Breton's Ceilidh Trail (Route 19), the Bras d'Or Lakes Scenic Drive, and Hwy 105, all pass through Inverness County, with all roads leading to the famous Cabot Trail. Inverness County promises some of the most spectacular scenic views and breathtaking sunsets on the island.

The website provides a glimpse of the kind of magic you'll find on your actual visit to Inverness County. Every corner of the County boasts trails, look-offs and scenic vistas where visitors can hike during the day and, in the evening, if you wish, enjoy the heartwarming, shimmering sights as the sun sinks into the ocean. Locals refer to western side of Cape Breton as the "sunset side of the Island" and visitors soon find out why.
